The original Alfa Romeo GTA was developed to offer a unique combination of every day usability and, at the same time, the ability to win at weekends on the racetrack. The Alfa 147 GTA is a hatchback with an unmistakable personality and aggressive styling.

DESIGN
The designers who created the Alfa 147 GTA were given a very specific brief: create a car for everyday use that could, under the right circumstances, deliver its owner the performance, behaviour and driving sensations of a car built for the racetrack.
The Alfa 147 GTA is designed to perform. The bonnet is drawn out lengthways and the tail tapers when viewed from the top or side, making the car look more slender and dynamic. The Alfa 147 GTA has flared wheel arches to accommodate wide 17" wheels; and the foglights have been shifted toward the outside of the car to free the air intakes.
At the rear, the 147 GTA features a revised bumper. The lower part of the rear end looks completely different from the original 147 model from boot floor level downward. The final touch is provided by two oval exhaust tailpipes in line with one of the brand's classic styling cues.
COMFORT
Step inside the Alfa 147 GTA and you will feel like you are on the racetrack. Everything has a racing finish, from the chrome instrument dials to the drilled foot pedals.
The driver is the focus of the entire passenger compartment, from the digital information display with trip computer and temperature display to the black wrap around sports seats that literally engulf you with support and comfort.
Optional black leather sports seats are available with the choice of blue, grey, tan or black inserts to bring your interior to life. The front seats are sports configured with built in head restraints. They are divided by an armrest with storage compartment. The rear seat offers the same sports configuration but all the comfort of a true five-seater.
It's easy to travel in total relaxation. Standard on the Alfa 147 GTA are the Dual Zone climate control system, Fire Prevention System, CD player with 8 speakers, radio controls on the steering wheel and Cruise Control.
ENGINE & GEARBOX
The 3.2L V6 24v engine in the Alfa 147 GTA propels it to a top speed of 246 km/h and allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. It develops a substantial 184 kW at 6200 rpm with a maximum torque of 300 Nm delivered at 4800 rpm.These figures are complemented by a torque curve that provides ample pulling-power at low speed - in fact; the Alfa 147 GTA can travel comfortably in sixth gear at less than 2000 rpm.
The drivetrain in the Alfa 147 GTA is based on the standard 147, but has been reinforced: the half-axles are new; the clutch is bigger; and the six-speed gearbox offers new, sturdier components. This enhanced transmission allows for swifter gearshifts at both low and high speeds.
