DRIVER TECHNOLOGY
Four-corner Air suspension delivers skilful on and off-road dynamics. Smart steering - nimble at slow speeds, more weighted at high speeds raises your level of control, stability and road surface feedback. And the outstanding Terrain Response, exceptional brakes and acclaimed Air suspension help negotiate all conditions and terrains.
DYNAMIC RESPONSE
Standard on Range Rover Sport Supercharged V8 Petrol and the TDV8, the Dynamic ResponseTM system senses cornering forces and acts accordingly. It helps minimise the risk of roll, provides superb handling and maintains ride support and comfort. When off-road terrain warrants greater wheel travel, Dynamic ResponseTM releases the anti-roll bars.
TERRAIN RESPONSE
Inching over rocks and boulders, gliding through soft sand, gripping snow and ice ? just turn the dial, and Terrain Response? will help you out. It adopts the most appropriate settings for the many advanced electronic controls and Traction aids, ensuring that the more difficult conditions are more easily managed.
ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Using radar to scan the road 10 times a second, optional ACC dynamically matches the speed of the vehicle in front of you, settling in behind it and maintaining a constant speed and one of four cruise gap distances chosen by you. Should you close in on the vehicle ahead, Forward Alert quickly provides an audio and visual signal.
ADVANCED BRAKING SYSTEM
Range Rover Sport has exceptional stopping power. All TDV8, V8 Petrol and Supercharged derivatives employ 4-piston Brembo? calipers with large brake discs. Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) is also on hand to reduce braking distances in an emergency and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) helps deliver the confidence of maximum control without wheel lock.
POSITIVE TORQUE
The Positive Torque system, standard on all TDV8 and supercharged derivatives, provides faster downshifts by automatically blipping the throttle to match engine and road speeds, for an even more dynamic drive. Huge reserves of Torque are available across the rev range:
- Continuous 640Nm at 2000rpm-2500rpm
- Over 500Nm between 1500rpm and 3700rpm
The result is an instant response and swift acceleration when overtaking or from standstill.
EXTERIOR
Range Rover Sport looks like it's moving even when it's standing still. The wheel arches are subtly flared, power vents sit behind the front wheels and a sharp muscular line runs along the car's hips. Range Rover styling cues include the ´floating´ roof and clamshell bonnet with a sportier raked windscreen. While updates to the rear, including body colour appliqué panel, re-coloured lamp lenses and Brunel finish tread mat, provide an even better view for those who follow.
Bold perforations on the three-bar grille maximise airflow and engine performance. Range Rover Sport Supercharged and TDV8 grille bars are enhanced with a bright Titan finish, complemented by a Tungsten surround. The Supercharged grille enjoys an exclusive black and silver Land Rover badge.
Range Rover Sport is one of the most aerodynamic 4x4s, thanks in part to this stylish rear spoiler. Its finely-calibrated position and length reduces drag and turbulence by controlling the flow of the air as it leaves the vehicle.
The lifting tailgate creates a rounder shape and smoother airflow, further enhancing Range Rover Sport's exceptional aerodynamics. The separate lifting glass allows shopping and smaller items to be loaded easily, without raising the entire tailgate.
Critical to both performance and personalisation are the wheels and tyres. Alloy wheels diminish unsprung weight and allow the suspension to react more quickly. Specially developed tyres with lower profiles optimise comfort and minimise rolling resistance. Wheel designs are available in three sizes and several styles, including Silver Sparkle and a Diamond Turned finish.
INTERIOR
Range Rover Sport is one of Land Rover's best ever driver vehicles. A sporty cockpit cocoons you, sculpted seats embrace you, and powered lumbar support keeps you comfortable on long trips. A high centre console, with features like the Harman Kardon® Logic 7® surround sound audio, keeps you company. And the extensive leather, wood and metallic finishes refine the whole experience.
Sports seats provide total comfort and positive support on long journeys. Distinct contouring and high bolsters grip you firmly during cornering.
There are three leather choices; Leather, Premium Leather and (perforated) Sports Leather. The extended interior colour palette now offers Almond in Leather and Premium Leather finishes, with attention to detail on accompanying Nutmeg feature stitching.
Ivory contrast stitching is available exclusively with Ebony Premium Leather. Premium Leather door inserts are also available in a range of colours in combination with Premium Leather seats.
And with the choice of Brunel or Noble plated trim finish available in combination with a variety of door inserts, Range Rover Sport offers more options than ever before.
